Hardware has been a difficult issue for the past few months.
It is well known that the Chinese government is very keen to reduce the level of pollution caused by manufacturing in China. This is particularly true in metal working and production, causing a curbing of output in several steel mills, smelters and plants, and closure (temporary or otherwise) of factories that manufacture hooks, chains, and other hardware accessories.
The pollution controls are both for air and water (runoff) pollution. Even if a factory could get it’s hands on metal components, galvanizing would prove difficult. This was compounded by gas shortages – as clean energy promotion prompts factories to switch from coal to natural gas, the sudden demand increase caused a market shortage. The government specified priority to residential users, and so factories suffered again with supply problems and price spikes.
Luckily our supply chain is resilient and held up to the recent pressures. We have been able to consistently supply all the hooks, ratchets, and other metal components required by our customers. This includes coloured hardware, like the recent black examples sent to the US before the Chinese New Year holiday starts.
These are some of the 4 inch flat hooks, coloured ratchets, and black double J hooks supplied recently. You can also see galvanised ratchets, and coated S hooks.
We are committed to providing our clients with exactly what they require, when they require it, from webbing, to hardware, to finished slings and tie-downs. Contact us now to discuss what you need in the coming months and we will work with you to start production immediately after the Chinese New Year.
